“Every 'no' makes room for an unexpected 'yes.' Every delay fortifies our patience and allows for time to prepare and mature. Every physical setback forces us to rest and recover, building strength in other ways. Every weakness and temptation heightens our awareness of our need for others and for God. Every bout of loneliness or depression reminds us to love lavishly when we are able. Every embarrassment keeps our sense of humor intact. Every gaping hole of loss could be a window.” (Kristin Armstrong)
I'm feeling a bit down. I guess it's coming from dealing with the foot issue and having to be slow (which I totally hate and am not good at), trying to get past some discouragement and hurt feelings, and having a touch of a cold as well. I think the combination has given me a case of the blues. I am fine and will be OK and I know it. But I'm struggling a little bit.
I read the above quote a while back and saved it and I think now is when I really need it. I'm definitely not enjoying the enforced rest and recovery and certainly not building strength in other ways. But I know I need to.
And as my sister's mother-in-law always told her, "This too shall pass!" And it will.

I've had the blues for the past couple of days too so a quote like this was much needed. I hate this way of feeling and it is worse in the evenings and at night. I haven't been feeling well physically too(I haven't had surgery like you, so I'm just a whiner I guess) but my body is trying to get an infection(I'm nursing and I'll just leave it at that) and I am just tired and hurtin. Then we just got back from our trip and the house is just a disaster and I like things to be super clean and they aren't. When I'm down, I'm cranky. I've been mean to everyone, especially Joey. Then I feel guilty for being mean, yadda, yadda, yadda. Anyways, I'm down too, so thanks for an uplifting quote! Sorry for tmi:) I guess I needed to vent somewhere!
I can really relate to the whole feeling blue, thing. I am hoping with the new year upon us, and new things to focus on, things will get better. I hope you recover well...I am so sorry about your foot. And I do hate hurt feelings...had quite a case of those myself! I love you, Jan.
Jan, Quinn and I love you! I only wish I was there to come over and hang out like old times (roomie). You are the most giving, loving, fun, talented person that I know. This will to pass and you will be stronger than before. Love you!
you are not one to slow down willingly, that is for sure! sorry you're bummed out. wish we could help. we miss regular, happy mama.
I hate the blues. We are praying for a fast recovery. Just remember you are loved by many!
I'm sorry you're feeling down!...to quote a favorite bear of mine,Winnie the Pooh always says," No one can be un-cheered by a balloon!"...do you want me to bring you a balloon? I will! :) Hope you're feeling chipper soon! love ya!

Jan, I'm sorry you're feeling the blues. Do you need some peanut blossom cookies?! I cna bring you some--those always cheer me up :) I hope your foot recovers soon and all will be well. Thanks for sharing that quote.
I love you Jan. I hope that you can heal quickly and get back to your regular self really soon. You're certainly in my thoughts and prayers.
Janny Wanny don't be blue! You can't be blue! You are one of the most chipperest people I know. I do know how these times come around though. I am sorry you are going through this - and if I did (or didn't do) something that hurt your feelings I apologize.
I hope things are looking up soon!
Sorry Jan. I know it's SO frustrating when you want to do something and your body can't do it. I hope you will be fit as a fiddle soon. Love the quote. It cheered me up. We all love you!
I'm sorry you're feeling blue Jan! I wish I lived closer and could bring you something to cheer you up. It's frustrating I think when you're body isn't up to letting you do what you need or want to. You're in my prayers!
jan - i'm sorry you're blue. and i'm sorry life is keeping you down. i hate when things aren't going your way. but just remember - sometimes its good to let others help you & when you're slow - you can notice more details. :)

Look at all these beautiful posts--I hope they are adding a little smile to your face. It is so wonderful to know that hard times pass--and it will. Remember that the atonement is there for you when times are hard. Such a wonderful gift. I'll keep you in my prayers!
Hey Jan! Just think! Each day, you're over more and more and more of "the worst!" :D Keep your chin up darlin!
