Yesterday my cousin and friend Carol [pictured above in the rust/orange colored dress] sent me some family pictures she had come across. What a treat! I hadn't seen any of them except the picture of the two of us at Seminary graduation in [gulp!] 1971. Yup, that's me in the blue/green dress and the hip glasses. The good news is that I remember thinking I was fat back then -- apparently not so! How fun is that?
The two pictures above that one would be my parents with my brother and I and then just me with my dad in the mid 1950's sometime. I think my parents were adorable -- and how cute was I? Another myth dispelled, I think. I thought I was kind of a homely little kid but that picture of me with my dad is way cute!! [if I do say so myself! Maybe a little too much pride there?] Look at Dad's jacket -- awesome!
She also sent a couple of pictures of my grandparents that I had never seen and that brought back some great memories of dinners at their house. Loved it.
Thanks to Carol for a fun trip back down memory lane. She says she has more pictures and will send them on -- can't wait!

Love the pics, they are always so fun to look through!
Thanks for sharing!! I love seeing old pictures. It's fun because they always look like a mini version of the current person. you little cutie!
you were an adorable child(no surprise there) and one hot chick with a rockin bod:) you still are!
Oh, how fun!! I love these pictures Jan!! I love the jacket your Dad is wearing too!! :) What fun memories!!
I love going thru old pics so fun! You look beautiful in your dress and glasses! You were a cute kids too!
um, more like how WARPED is that!!! you thought you were FAT?! holy crap. what do you think about me? :)
Jan you were super cute as a kid, young adult, and even now!
Ah, how cute are you! Seriously, you have to show me a "fat" picture before I believe you. You are one tiny lady (then, too, apparently!)
btw, it always throws me off to see you with dark hair. You're a blond!!
Wow - cool pictures. Thank you so much for posting these. Grandpa looks like a stud and my dad's getting a front tooth in the first one. Do you see a bit of yourself in your grandkids??
skinny then, skinny now. Some things never change.
you are too adorable jan. Those picures are FUUUUN to have.
Great pictures! They are a treasure. A testament to why pictures should be printed out and saved in a box and not just stored on the computer to disappear into oblivion when the hard drive crashes or removable disk media becomes obsolete.
You look great in those pictures. How fun for you to look at!
Oh my goodness!! You were a HOTTIE! Seriously digging the blue dress and the spectacles! So before your time :)
How great are those pictures!?! And, you were sooooo not fat when you graduated from Seminary!! Mercy - I think that Ben sort of looks like you (especially in that picture with you and your dad)! I always thought Ben was a mama's boy, but I can see that he looks like his Grandma too!
That was so awesome to see. Thanks so much for posting them. You and Dad are so cute!!
Loving the clothes! You should've saved them--they're back in style. I love going back in time. Always makes me smile to remember the good ol' days!
How fun!!! Your blue dress is much cuter than the rust number, I must say....it's so funny to see how styles, etc.change over the years!
Great pics!
Great photos. It's so funny that we are never as fat or homely as we thought we were. You are neither, and I loved the glasses!
Love the pictures! You were such a cute little girl.
How cute are...and were...you. Those are great pictures. Ahhh the 70's!
What a cutie you were. I love to take a trip down memory lane and see how much different things were than I remember thinking they looked. It really puts things into perspective. :)
