I drive a very fuel-efficient Honda Civic -- and since the places I generally go are in my neighborhood, I fill up much less frequently than many people.
However -- I am watching the gas prices with fear and trembling. I filled up on May 19, only a few days ago. The cost? $3.65 a gallon. I was pretty outraged. But I drove by the same station yesterday [May 22] and the price is now [gasp!] $3.79 a gallon. My little car, that used to cost me around $25 for a fill-up, now runs over $40 to fill that same little tank. My sympathies to those of you with families and larger cars.
To me, that's outrageous. The worst part is that there's not one thing I can do about it. And I know that our prices are significantly lower than in other places.
What's it costing you where you are at for a gallon of gas, anyhow? I'm thinking it's time to bust out the bicycle!

Seriously, I hate it! I don't know how people drive around in their big SUVs paying an arm and a leg for gas. It used to cost me about $35 to fill up our Odyssey and now it's about $50. It just makes me cringe!
Ain't that the truth. I think I'm gonna buy a bike and and bike trailer to haul my kids around in.
haham ya gas prices have me pretty frustrated too! we live out in the country, at least 10 miles to town where we grocery shop, the gym and schools....it is getting very expensive!! gas here is $3.79 and going up!!
i filled up for $70 yesterday(we have an expedition) it was 3.75 a gallon, but in the past 12 hours or so it has already jumped to 3.88 per gallon thanks to good old Memorial Day coming up. isn't that such a rip off that when its the holidays and more people are traveling they jack up the prices? its not right and it makes me sick that we can do nothing about it.
So far, I win. (or lose... that's how I see it.) Gas is $4.05 a gal in NY. Yay NY... we're senator-less AND we get outrageous gas prices! (Another excellent reason to move to TN, its about $3.60 there right now).
PLUS, my STUPID Gas-guzzling-11-year-old Jeep cherokee only gets 16mpg or so. I usually wait till 5 cents off Thursdays to fill up, and it still costs me about $42 bux a week. (There goes my paychecks!)
Jan, be grateful you have a honda civic. I'm stuck with what I've got for now. :(
At least I'm not in Canada anymore... It's $1.25 a liter there! (3.86 li per gal)... $4.82 a gal? YIKES!
Anyway, I'll stop my gas ranting for now. lol Sorry to take up so much comment space... it just drives me nuts!
I just filled up for $3.49 at Costco. It is horrible! And we are DRIVING to Canada in August. EEEKK!!!!
Can you believe how crazy those prices are. I noticed this morning our gas went from $3.75 yesterday to $3.89 this morning. It is unreal.
I'm so sick of gas prices. I'm glad I live so close to work now, though I'm still hating when I have to drive just about anywhere.
Well, I've got you all beat in Canada (Alberta) - we just went up to $1.30 a liter today which means $5.01 a gallon. Thankfully I drive a VW Beetle but I seriously think I need a good bike!
$3.85 here which means that the girls and I don't really go anywhere since we don't have to.
I think it's time to play some hardball with Saudi Arabia.
You might not want to know what we pay in Cardston. There are 4 litres to a gallon and we pay 1.21 for a litre so a gallon for us is 4.84 . Not pretty. And Cardston is a few cents cheaper than Lethbridge.
It was pretty sickening to listen to the oil company CEOs complain to a congressional committee about how business is so hard for them. No sympathy here, buster!
It's 3.93 in Vegas. It cost me 62.00 to fill up my tiny suv. It stinks! Now that preschool is out, I won't have to drive as much. Preschool was 50 miles per week. Yikes!
I'm just glad Rachel and I are carpooling. Even when she does get her new car, I'm hoping we keep it up. If things keep getting worse, I might even start considering transfering to the high school across the street from us. Maybe.
I drive a Honda Civic, too, so it's not too bad for me. It's getting really bad, though! I think some stations here have reached the BIG $4!!
It's NUTS! It usually is cheaper here in TN but it's up to $3.79 as of yesterday. I've totally cut back and places I go. . .which can be a good thing!
We pay 3.79 here in the great state of Utah. What's going to happen when I can't afford to go ANYWHERE? Seriously. Is there a way that I can become an oil executive? I would really like to get in on the money MAKING end of the gas price....Geez..
mercy me, i'm with you! it SUCKS!
