“I am a slow walker, but I never walk backwards.” ~Abraham Lincoln
There are days when I really feel like I am wading through mud, dragging my feet [and the rest of my reluctant, slow-to-learn self] behind. I hate feeling like I am not progressing the way I'd like to. But I am not walking backwards. I need to remind myself of that, when I feel like my progression forward is too slow.
There's so much I want to do and to be and I'm not good at 'slow'. I want to do better and I want to be better. But steady is good, and my progression is undeniably forward -- just not at the pace I would like. I think I want perfection now.
At least I'm not walking backward.

you always have the best thoughts.
you're right--the important thing is that you're not walking backward, only forward.
small and simple is all your steps have to be to bring about great things
Such great thoughts, and I totally agree with you! There are so many days when I wish I could just be and do everything I've ever dreamed of... those "slow" days are hard!! But like you said - as long as we're going forward we're doing good :)
Oooh that was fun to see you on my blog! (This is the former Tiffany Fitzwater, by the way). You look pretty hot for a grandma. And your grandkids are gorgeous!
Good reminder!!
At least you're not moving backwards! I'm one of those "2 steps forward, 1 step back" kind of people. So I do feel like I'm going backward sometimes.
And you're right, progression is the most important thing, whether it be fast or slow.
Now this is the difference between our blogs. Your is useful, inspirational, important. Mine is, well, not. :) This is indeed a good reminder.
Just seeing your picture brings me back to childhood. You look just the same! And did you know Brady lives in Austin? Great to hear from you!
i love that quote-i had never read that one before! as long as we are walking forward, thats all that matters(even if we walk pretty slow sometimes!)
"Slow and steady wins the race!"...love the picture!
