"No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old familiar pillow." ~Lyn Utang
I'm back. I had a lovely week [excluding the snow, of course!] with my mom, dad, sister and nephews [and niece-in-law too!]. It was great to be back where I grew up and to spend time with loved ones. The travel was smooth, the visits were great, the shopping was fun, the food was yummy, and the carry-on was full on the way back.
It was wonderful to have the visits and the time with family, and fun to drive back by the home I grew up in. I always hate leaving my mom, dad and sister when time runs out, but it's also wonderful to come back to where home is for me now. It's hard to have your heart divided that way, for sure.
It feels good to be back in my own home again.
And no snow!

so glad you're back! we missed you!!
I totally get life divided. I'm glad you make the time to go "home". It's so important and therapeutic! You are right though...always good to be back home.
Welcome back! I am so glad that you were able to go visit family and that you had a nice trip. I think Dorothy said it right in the Wizard of Oz, "there's no place like home"- where ever that may be. Enjoy the warm Texas weather!
So glad you made it back and had a nice trip!
Welcome home :)
I totally understand the heart being divided thing. Mine is totally divided, but there really is no place like home.
I'm glad you had a nice visit! A full carry-on has got to be a good thing! hehe! Glad you're home, safe and sound!
Glad you're back home and had a great trip! :)
Glad you had a safe trip! Hope to see pics of it soon.
Glad you had a great time and that you are back safe and sound!
We missed eachother. We were in Hawaii. It was fun to see your Lethbridge pics in your previous post. Oh yah, Caramilk are my favorite candy bar. Do not like Smarties! Just can't get my head around them being so close to M and M's.
I'm glad you had a great trip! It's so fun to visit family and have a little get away, sorry about the snow....funny that I thought it was snowing in Texas when you mentioned it on Facebook.
blogland wasn't the same without you jan! so glad you had a wonderful and safe trip.
