"As children of God we are somebody. He will build us, mold us, and magnify us if we will but hold our head up, our arms out, and walk with Him." ~Marvin J. Ashton
I spent an hour in Miss Maya's classroom this week, and as I did, I got a little time with every kindergarten student in that class. It was so interesting to come away with a very specific feeling [in one way or another] about each child. I left wishing that every one of them could be sure of who they are. We teach in Primary that they are literally children of God, that He knows them, loves them, and will help them.
Each one of us is somebody and can be more than we could begin to imagine with God's help. I need to remember keep my head up, my arms out and to walk beside Him. Then maybe I can help someone else realize that they too are somebody.

How lucky Maya is to have her Grandma come and help in school! I too wish all kids could truly know who they are- what difference that would make in the world!
What a neat quote. Thank you for sharing! I need a little reminder every now and again!
Great quote and thought.
And how fun for both you and Maya to have you in her classroom! What a lucky girl to be so loved!

Just beautiful!
You are already such an example of this to so many! My thoughts are constantly on how to better one's self. This is perfect for me to hear right now! Thanks for the thought. Love your blog
first, what a sweet picture:)
and second, how lucky is maya to have her grandma come to school! my kids don't get nothin. i come eat lunch with them when i can but i can't volunteer in the classroom because i have cali(and she is too shy to let me leave her with anyone right now). my school kids are neglected by me. :( i volunteer at the school carnival every year and thats it. you do what you can i guess.
How fantastic for Maya that you got to go to her class! I can't even go to my daughter's class because I can't bring the baby. Bummer.
I like this. We need to keep this in mind more often. We have much more worth than we realize.
Great post. Thank you for your constant reminder of what we should be doing. You are so awesome! <3 you!
