"A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of rain." ~Carl Reiner
Clearly there are mixed opinions on snow. I for one have had my fill of it. I grew up in it in Alberta, I lived in it in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Indiana, even in Nashville, and of course in Reno. I am done with snow. I truly don't care if I never see it again.
But I have been so taken with how much the children here love it. It's such an anomaly for them -- they can't wait to get out in it and play.
Me? Not so much. But it was very pretty when it happened last week. I'm just grateful it didn't stay long.
Snow Scrooge. That's me. Give me the beach any day. I'm with Carl.
Pics are scenes from my back yard -- which don't come close to capturing how pretty it really was as it came down.

I'll be a snow scrooge with you. We have had record snow fall here in Nashville and the coldest winter since 1974. I have been longing for the days when we lived in Texas with the mild winters and big sunny sky. Oh how I miss the sun and warm afternoons. I guess now I'll have to dream of a beach south of Florida for warmth this winter. It's Crazy!
I have the same attitude... give me the beach and lots of sunshine!! We've experienced quite a bit of snow here this year. You're right - it's beautiful... for a little bit :) I'd rather see it melt as quickly as it falls. But my boys on the other hand - love it!
There's no other choice but to love snow here! And in those pictures, you got more than we did last night...which has got to be saying something!
I'm not a big fan of snow either - at least the type that comes down and stays on the ground and then you have to shovel and scrap and trudge thru and deal with it. Snow in Austin is perfect though. It quickly comes and quickly goes and doesn't overstay it's welcome. :)
we did get a bunch of it, for texas! crazy!
Oh no. That is definitely not normal! Kind of a funny picture.
My thoughts exactly Jan!
I am 100% with you Jan. I've only lived in snow for maybe 10 years total, 5 of which I thankfully remember, BUT I have the scars to prove it! (Siblings decided to bury me in the snow with a metal shovel, and I nearly lost an eye or two) Snow stinks, and is TOTALLY unnecessary! Thinkin' bout moving back to Cali! :)
I am not a huge snow fan. I like it once maybe twice a season, then I am over it!
I just have to say how much I love that you have cool gear in your backyard for the grandkids! Gram-tastic, indeed!
