I'm as big a fan of Facebook as anyone, but in the past few days, I've been 'friended' by people I can barely remember. [barely being the operative term here]. As I rack my brain to try to remember who the heck they are/were and what they might have meant to me, it sort of takes away some of the joy and fun I've experienced as I've re-connected with some people from the past that really were my friends.
This one spoke to me today!

i just ignore those requests! if i can't remember right off who they even were, then they ain't my friends! :) i'm cruel. hahaha.

Totally relate! You just so memorable to so many people! Don't be afraid to ask them who they are.
I don't FB anymore, but I remember thinking "did we know each other? when?"
LOL!! I know exactly what you are talking about. One of my friends' boyfriends who I have never met and lives in Utah requested me as a friend and I'm just like...what? WHY?

Yup, just ignore it. I love that FB even builds in an "ignore" button. There have even been one or two that I DO remember, and that's WHY I "ignored" them. Does that make me bad? Or just incredibly picky?

If there was a 'like' button on your blog, I'd click it. I SO agree. I'm ready to start deleting some people. I really don't care if you're hungover people, really, get a life! Highschool was over 10 YEARS AGO!
I just "cleaned out" my facebook friends of all those people that I barely knew in high school. Really--why do they want to be my friend?
I'm so busy that I can barely do facebook. But i hear you! There is one "friend" that is friends with all my really good friends and we are all like...who is this "friend". we seriously can't remember who she is.
So funny! I always feel bad if I don't accept a facebook "friendship"- even if we never really were friends...

I understand what you mean. I always look at it as maybe I had a bigger impact on their lives than I thought I did. There must be some reason, right?? I feel really bad when I can't remember someone.
The precise reason I've never joined Facebook and probably never will. My real friends? Well, I just call'em or e-mail to stay in touch. And I have all the friends I need...don't need more!

I love this one. I friended 2 people... and I have no idea who they are. I'm guessing they're friends from elementary school, since those are the people we know in common, but I can't remember their names or faces to save my life!! Since then, I have declined a few invitations. If I don't know who you are, we can't be friends. :( ;)
