"A person will worship something, have no doubt about that. We may think our tribute is paid in secret in the dark recesses of our hearts, but it will out. That which dominates our imaginations and our thoughts will determine our lives, and our character. Therefore, it behooves us to be careful what we worship, for what we are worshipping, we are becoming." (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

I found this as I browsed blogs today and it really jumped out at me. What do I worship? What matters most to me? Where do I spend my time? More importantly, what am I becoming? It's all the same thing. It bears consideration.

Wow. Great quote. It is so well put. Isn't it true, too! i have known so many people who profess one thing, and years later come out as a complete liar....It really makes you step back and think about about yourself...and what you value.
Thanks Jan....amazing, yet again!

I love that picture too! I always miss the fall leaves. Great quote. Hopefully it doesn't mean I am becoming Target since that's all I have been thinking about this week.;)
