Crash!

This past week, Mark went out to get into his car to head to work and found his rear window smashed. We had heard rumors that this was happening in our neighborhood -- our neighbors had it happen to them last week and their next door neighbors had both cars vandalized a month ago, and one of them again this time around. It's one of those things that you can't do a thing about but that really raises the blood pressure.

Ours cost a mere $366 -- the neighbors' was closer to $1000 (they have an SUV and we have a PT Cruiser) -- and I get really cranky thinking about their neighbors and the 3 times they have had to buy new rear windows for their cars.

The point to all this? We have spent the past couple of days cleaning out the garage, throwing things away (that should have been trashed years ago, I'm sure) and rearranging it so that Mark's car can go in the garage next to mine. It looks like it will happen - -maybe even tonight.

How's that for taking a lemon and making lemonade? (GRRRR!! I'm still mad about the cars!)

How horrible!!!! It infuriates me to even think people would do such a thing. Urgh! I'm sorry it had to happen to you, but good luck cleaning out the garage so hopefully it won't happen again.

So sorry Jan! That just sucks. I hope those rotten people get caught soon. It's the worst spending money on something senseless.

yeah, that totally sucks. my favorite part was when your neighbor said "i thought we lived in a safe neighborhood". the sad truth is, hooligans are everywhere. i'm just sorry it cost you $400.

Argh, stuff like that really gets to me...wish I could understand it.I'm so sorry, Jan.

If it makes you feel any better, our TV gave out and we had to go buy a new one today. And we just bought a washer! Why oh why can't we get a little warning with these things??

AW MAN! That so sucks! That is so aggravating and it also gives you this violated feeling. Our house was robbed when I was a kid and then my cd player was stolen out of my car when I was a teen and I hated that feeling. Not to mention the $$ it costs. Why do people have to do this? And why do they always get away with it??? Arggggg.

People like that just tick me right off. What gives them the right to do this kind of thing? I love how you found a positive though! Way to keep the spirits up! Hope your neighborhood doesn't have any more 'excitement'!

Yuck!! I hate when stuff like that happens!! It really does make you feel 'violated'! And makes you wonder what their point was....punk kids!!:)
But hey, you get a clean garage, and less junk. Woo hoo!

Oh man that does suck! Scott's car is out on the drive too. Without a basement it's hard to fit all the crap in!! We could do it, it's just very tight. But yes way to go in turning something bad into something good. Cleaning up junk is never a bad thing :)

Jan, I know JUST how you feel, so violated for sure. In California, I had my car broken into TWICE within a one month period, and my car stereo stolen TWICE! Since then I've had a car alarm installed, and the same stereo that was stolen the first time (the second one was the crappy/almost broken one I replaced in the first place...) That was in 2002 I think. Horrible feeling. Good Luck cleaning out the garage! *HUGS*

AHHHHHHH it just makes you want to scream. This happened to us this summer too. It's the worst thing to see when you go out to get in your car.
