Happy Sunday

Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all the things we can give to them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children.” ~Rosaleen Dickson

Children are always in my heart when I get up on Sunday mornings. It's such a privilege to plan to spend 2 of my 3 hours at church with the children and I always feel so much love for them as I prepare.

For me, unconditional love is so essential in dealing with children. I'm not suggesting that we never correct them, or that we accept inappropriate behavior. But I do feel strongly that the love we have for our children needs to be so clear to them that they understand that there is nothing they can do that would change that love.

That's how I want to go into Primary today.

Happy Sunday, everyone.

That's probably why the kids are always so good for you - they know that you'll love them no matter what so they don't have to test you!

You are so inspiring and such a good example. I just got home from church and it was chaotic. Chris is gone so it was just me hauling the girls around and that was a bit tough. I forget to take that extra time to make sure the kids know that I love them in my rush to get things set up for Primary to begin. I need to pause and take a moment to breath, regroup and do like you. :)

That was just perfect Jan. You are so right. Our kids need to know we love them no matter what. How can we expect them to come to us when they have a problem, if they think our love has conditions?
