Snow -- in Austin?

"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together." ~Vista M. Kelly

After a day with near record-breaking temperatures [I think we were in the high '70's yesterday], last night it surprised all of us by getting dramatically colder very quickly -- and even coming up with some sleet/snow.

When I got up this morning, the house was freezing, and outside, there really was some snow on the ground. Still is, actually. If I had a camera, I'd take a picture. But just imagine it: yesterday, a high in the mid '70's, and right now, it's 34 degrees, aiming for a high of 52. And snow on the ground.

I guess it is December after all!

Holy cow! Sounds like Utah, but without the 70 degrees the day before. I'm SO SORRY! I hope the 70's come back soon!

I guess I will be packing our coats after all!

Sorry that the 70 degree weather is gone! I am longing for that again! At least you have some pretty snow to see. All we have is unseasonably cold weather. I love the quote!

It's cold here too today! low of like 36 after it was mid 50's yesterday! I was wondering about that picture... it's from the iPhone built-in weather forecast! I thought you had an iPhone for a minute there! hehe

I couldn't believe it this morning!! My kids were soooo excited. It was fun while it lasted. :) Who knew it could (or would) snow in Texas?!!

We still have a beautiful blanket of snow on the ground. The kids and Robert (and the dog too) made a wee snowman and had snowball fights. It was a wonderful evening, sadly there prayers for a snow day were left unanswered, but Robert is going to go into work late, so that's a nice bonus! I love Texas Weather, one day I'm in shorts and have the AC on and the next it's snowing!

We are getting a cold snap here this weekend and it's not going to be pretty. It will be -15 F so in C it is going to be bad. Snow is Austin, that's pretty neat. Snow does make the holiday season feel just a little different.
