Goin' Home

Always fun to see this as you drive into Lethbridge -- welcome home!

Ric's Grill -- when I was a kid it was a water tower. Amazing what can be done - -now it's a fun place to eat and look out over the city.

Henderson Lake - only a few blocks from where I grew up.

Tomorrow morning, way too early, I'll be at the airport, heading home. First to Dallas, then on to Calgary and then a 2 hour drive to Lethbridge Alberta, where I grew up. It always feels strange to go back home now because my parents no longer live in the familiar, comfortable home where I spent the first 18 years of my life. But it's interesting to discover how little it matters -- because home is where they are and where my sister and family are.

I'm excited to have time with my mom and dad, as well as my sister Val who will be spending most of the week with us in Lethbridge.

And I"m taking special orders for Canadian candy. Who's in?? Submit your lists ASAP!

Back next week.

I have no idea about Canadian candy, but I do know that my brother in law will be going to UT next year and that we'll be there for Thanksgiving!

Smarties!!! I second Natalie on the minis. And ketchup chips! :D

Of course, I don't expect you to get any of it for me, but I definitely envy you for getting to go see the old folks. I miss 'em. Silly me, I should do something like call or email. (Bad grandchild.)

I hope you have a wonderful trip. I knew you were from Canada, but didn't know you were from Lethbridge. We've had so many missionaries in our ward from that area of Canada. Every one of them (no kidding) -- and there have been many -- has been wonderful. They must grow them right up there!

I think it's so funny that both you and Chris are international travelers this week! :) Great minds think alike (or travel alike)!
Ok - have I ever had McIntosh? Everyone seem to be raving about them! And as you know, all of the boys in this household will want Kinder Eggs (we just found out that someone ratted out the cute little German store where we usually get them and they got in trouble with customs).
Anyhow, have fun! Tell everyone hi and give them all hugs from us! :)
