Ode to Tara

A truer statement was never written. And I am living proof.

We had Tara and the boys staying with us this week while Chris was in class down at UT. They had planned originally to all stay together in their hotel room very near campus - - but given some time and proximity, it seemed better for those of us not in school to be here and to let the student alone. [we did get time with him in the evenings!]

But since I wasn't expecting company, I didn't clean. Sigh. And Tara is the best housekeeper I know - she's amazing. And now I think she's more amazing because she never batted an eye at my tidy-ish but not very clean house.

Gotta love a daughter-in-law like that one. And I do.

I wish I could be like Tara! This cartoon could be me speaking... Having visitors is about the only time I really clean!

That is so me. Only its more like when my mom comes to visit. I can't let her know that I'm really a slob.

HAHAHAHA!! So true for me!!! My mom was an "white-gloved" house cleaner, and when she couldn't do it anymore, I had to...And now I'm completly opposite! Aaron has said the exact wording on this cartoon to me before. *rolls eyes*. I wish I were better!!! Don't get me wrong, it's a clean house, it's just....well lived in...I call it "Organized Chaos".

Ah a truer statement was never made! Thank goodness for the occasional company!

And your house is lovely, clean or no.

Love it- Robert always looks forward to my mom's visit, because I get to all the nooks and crannies. I'm glad you were able to spend time with you grandkids and kids.

I don't bat eyes at others' homes, because hey- let's face it! I do not have a taj mahal. I got two toddlers who do my decorating! I figure I'll be able to get it 100% clean in about 16 years or so...

i am definitely your daughter! jen gave me the name of a lady who cleaned her house (3 ladies, actually) for $65 and she said they did an AWESOME job. i think i might call and have them come once, get it all clean, maybe even have the carpets cleaned. then i'll TRY to maintain it, especially with all the time i'm about to have on my hands with my kiddies in school here soon. let me know if you want her number!

Jan your house wasn't messy at all. I really don't know what you're talking about. And, my house isn't really all that clean. I just clean it before you guys come to visit. Trust me, if you looked into a few of my toilets right now, you'd be pretty disgusted (honestly).
Thanks for letting us crash at your pad unexpectedly! :) It was nice not to have to try to keep the boys quiet, and to not have to watch Ben open and close doors for 4 hours a day)! :)

You do have to love a DIL like that! I hope you don't mind, I borrowed this cartoon. It was so applicable to my life at the moment that I had to use it too!

For reasons I can't quite articulate, I didn't want to go onto FB to wish you a Happy Birthday. So I'm doing it here! Hopefully you'll check your blog comments. Here's hoping your birthday is everything you deserve, and more. Love you!

Seriously, if company did come once in a while this place would never get a good shake down:) I had a cleaning lady come a couple of months ago and it was heaven. I wish I could afford her every couple of months. Happy Birthday!:)
