So today I stayed with Maya and Mason while Natalie got her hair done (she looks great -- I'm sure you've already seen the pics!) and when she returned we decided a fast trip to Sonic was in order. I always order a diet limeade and for some reason, that seems difficult for them. About half the time they bring a diet cherry limeade -- and if I'd wanted that, I'd have ordered that. They take it back and do it again and it's all good. But I get tired of that same screw-up all the time. Today they seemed really out of control. We ordered a couple of ice cream cones for the kids, small burgers for Natalie and myself, a blended root beer float for Natie and my diet limeade. It literally took forever and when they finally brought out the order it was all messed up-- so we sent the poor kid back in to make the changes. He came back with the cones for the kids, kids meals (which we did not order), Natie's blended float and (you guessed it!) a diet CHERRY limeade for me. Natalie tried to hand him the money and was told because of the time it took and the mess-ups, there was no charge (kudos to Sonic for that) -- and then gave them back the diet cherry limeade and asked for just a diet limeade. The poor kid looked devastated, but took the drink and then came back out and handed over another one. He scurried off quickly and I looked at my drink -- and it was STILL a cherry limeade. We didn't have the heart to call the poor guy back once more so I'm drinking it -- but it isn't as good as what I wanted. (I'm OK, I really am!) But it's definitely a pet peeve of mine -- just give me what I ordered and what I paid for (except this time I didn't have to pay for it! I suppose that's why we didn't send it back again!)

that was out of control today. seriously. i try not to get too annoyed but that was ridiculous. sorry about your drink! hey, at least it was free! that poor kid. i wanted to hand him a $5, just for him.
it seems that sonics everywhere do this! whether we have been in corpus, austin or dallas, it happens to us all the time. it is rare that they complete the order perfectly. a lot of times they don't even give a receipt. make sure you ask for one(itemized), because they mess that up half the time too and you end up paying more than you should've. i love sonic, don't get me wrong, but come on people-get it right!
Sonic in Utah is just as bad! I am a plain sandwich type of gal, usually they give me the wrong sandwich, with everything on it. Then I send it back and sometimes I actually end up getting the right sandwich, plain. They've never given it to me for free though!!!
Oh my goodness! You would think they could get it right the first time. How silly. At least you got the food for free--that was nice.
I am glad you got it for free, that is some serious incompetence. We went to Sonic on Christmas Eve morning. I think the two highschool kids thought nobody would be fool enough to go to a sonic that early in the morning on Christmas Eve, and they were free to have a good make out(I hope that's all they were doing) on the greasy sonic floor. when we rang the buzzer both of their heads popped up-eww! Needless to say we left. That place is constantly grossing us out.
i have to say that on most days, our sonic doesn't screw up too much, aside from the diet limeade, which seems to be a constant problem. also, i added some pics of the grandkids, mama.
oh my gosh, i hate when the drive thru or sonic gets it wrong. and if i say no ice, i sure as hell don't want ice in there... freak! as teachers, we're caffeine dependent, and we've got a 30 minute lunch. sometimes we make a run for the wendy's. we've gotten screwed so many times. now the rule is we take a sip of our drinks & check to make sure we've got a sandwich at the very least for everyone, before we drive away... dang!
