Hugs

My family has, in the past, accused me of being a very 'huggy' person. My sister makes fun of me for hugging all the time. And I admit it. I'm a natural hugger. I think there is much to be said for the benefits of a hug - -I think we all need a hug really often, whether we realize it or not. So I hug people. A lot.

Why? I think Shel Silverstein said it best in his poem, "Hug O' War".

"I will not play at tug o'war.
I'd rather play at hug o'war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs.
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins."

Because everyone does win.

Oh I LOVE Shel Silverstein. Jess and I read his poems and books all the time. I agree there is something about hugging that just makes you feel good. I didn't grow up in a huggy family though so it's hard for me to do!

Hugs come naturally for me with people I love, and your hugs always make me feel so good, Jan!

Shel Silverstein is awesome! Wynton and Brin laugh and laugh over his silly poems.

I am such a bum when it comes to hugs. I always want to give people the stiff arm.;)

Shel Silverstein brings back great elementary school memories. My DH is a big hugger, but I'm not too shabby myself.

I love huggy people! My family growing up was pretty huggy, I love it. However, Matt's family is not, so it's kinda of different for me.

I am not a hugger and I am trying to be better at it! I just have personal space issues I guess....

cute little poem. I've never heard that one before. I've become much more of a hugger with age. It just makes me happy:)

I'd love a Jan hug:)

there is no such thing as too many hugs i say! i love hugs and since i've met joey, i now give more hugs. my family doesn't hug like crazy and his does. there's nothing better than a big hug when you are feeling down.
